Note from Kim Starz, mom of graduate Amanda Starz -
entering her second year at Oklahoma City University as a dance major "Dear Susan, Thirteen years ago, my tiny little dancer came to you.  Who knew we would still be together after all these years (and she would be 5'8" tall, ha ha)!  We have now come to the end of a long and lovely journey with our Dancemoves family and I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how much these years have meant to us. Like any other family, we have had our ups and downs, our agreements and disagreements, our struggles and our triumphs, but through it all, I always knew that if Amanda were to continue with dance, Dancemoves was the place to be.  Its mission was always in the best interest of the children (even if I didn't see or agree with it some of the time!).  Dance taught my daughter confidence, poise, discipline and focus, and has been there to help her pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a professional dancer.  The quality of the teachers, the teachings, and the love and support from all at Dancemoves, and the genuine care and respect for the children and their dance education, will always shine through Amanda.  When Amanda was just 5 years old, she became part of the group of six who started the very first Dancemoves petite troupe, and look at her now!  She is on her way to Oklahoma City University in the fall to further pursue her dream of dancing on Broadway, and Oklahoma City is the ticket.  When she auditioned at the University, she truly stood out among the other 27 dancers in her group (there were 80 who auditioned that day)! Her poise, grace, fluidity and her ability to perform each and every task and follow the instructions put forward by the professors and choreographers, made her stand out among the others, and this is truly a tribute to Dancemoves.  It was there that I fully realized how much she had learned and how advanced she was in the art of dance due to your outstanding program.  While I told everyone that there were about 4 others in the room who could keep up with her, I didn't say that she was clearly the best (and she was)( because I didn't want to sound like a bragging mother.)  But I am bragging now!  I knew that day as I watched her that she would undoubtedly be accepted to the program, and for that, as a mother, I thank you and all who have participated in her dance education.  ....."
